Parenting Classes

Child-Parent Relationship Therapy

  • Relationship

Over the course of 10 weeks, CPRT is designed to strengthen and nurture your relationship with your child. That relationship is the foundation for secure attachment, trust, self-esteem, and emotional regulation.

  • Connection

Your connection with your child is what drives change. Through the CPRT class, parents and caregivers can expect to build more understanding of their child’s developmental needs, foster self-regulation, and increase confidence in parenting abilities.

  • Building Self Esteem

Through this CPRT class, parents will learn how to support their children in developing positive feelings of self-respect, self-worth, and confidence. Each week you are building skills to better respond rather than react.

What to expect

Child-Parent Relationship Therapy (CPRT) is a 10 week small group class with sessions offered in person and on Zoom. Each class is 2 hours where you will be learning parenting skills, new ways to connect with your child, and building your support network with other parents. This class is for parents only, providing skills to take home and practice with their children. Designed for parents and caregivers of children 5-10 years old.

You can expect homework in the form of “home-play” assignments where you will record yourself playing with your child for 30. minutes each week.

This class is led by Karie Glide, licensed therapist and registered play therapist with expertise in child-parent dynamics and neurodivergence experience. Each 10-week class is $1200 and includes all materials except for toys that you may need to purchase for your “play kit”.

In addition to the 10-week course, you’ll have a one-hour individual session with your facilitator before the class begins to get acquainted, and a one-hour follow up session after the course ends. This payment can be made in a single payment or broken into a payment plan of 4 payments, $300 each over the course of the class.
